Our Music Ministry

Music ministry

The music and arts ministry at Madison FUMC is an active and growing ministry.

Most importantly, the ministry has a program that encompasses all ages.  Children to adults can participate in our worship service and serve the Lord and our church through music.

Children's choir and liturgical dance are offered weekly as a part of Wednesday night programs.  The children's choirs, led by Anna Ross, meet weekly at 6 pm in the Wesley building and perform in worship.

The Liturgical Dance team led by Katie Anderson also meets on Wednesday nights and learns the fundamentals of dance and performs routines to contemporary Christian music seasonally in the 9 AM Casual Worship Service.
The Handbell Choir is a five octave bell choir directed by Jared Register.  They rehearse weekly on Wednesday night's at 6:30 pm in the handbell room in the Asbury Building.  They perform seasonally in the traditional worship service on Sunday's at 11 AM Traditional Worship Service.  The choir is open to ringers who have intermediate music reading skills.
The Praise Team leads the congregation in praise and worship style music every Sunday in the 9 AM Casual Worship Service. Consisting of guitars, drums, keyboard and vocalists, the praise team rehearses weekly the newest praise choruses heard on Christian radio stations, as well as old familiar choruses dear to the church.  The team is open to experienced musicians by audition.
Our Chancel choir is our largest and most active group.  The Chancel choir averages around 25 members and sings a variety of music from the classical period to contemporary sytles.  Our talented accompanists Macy Johnson and Jared Register enhance our practice and worship on a beautiful grand piano and a three manuel pipe organ.  We rehearse each Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the Asbury sanctuary and lead our congregation musically in the worship service each Sunday at 11 AM.  The choir is open to those who like to sing, ages high school and older.
Music is truly a gift from God.  Many of our church members say music speaks to them every Sunday. Performing music is even more meaningful.  You and your family can meaningfully participate in one of our many music opportunities.
