Contemporary Worship ServiceTraditional Worship ServiceLISTEN TO SERMONS

Our pastor and worship team provide each week worship services we hope are encouraging, inspiring and challenging. Various sermon series are presented to deepen one’s faith and aid in putting into practice those elements of Christian living taught in the scripture.

9 AM CASUAL Worship Service

This service is held in the Wesley Building on the Main Floor. The atmosphere is conducive for regular seating as well as at tables for families. The Praise Team leads in an opening segment of praise music. The morning message is brought by the pastor often using media elements to enhance the worship experience. A nursery is provided for this and all services, and children ages 3 through 3rd grade break out from worship into their own “Children’s Church” prior to the sermon. Dress is casual. The UGLY MUG CAFÉ is up and running as you enter to grab a cup of coffee as you arrive for worship.

11:00 AM Traditional Worship

This traditional United Methodist style service is held in the main sanctuary of the Asbury Building, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2014. This service includes congregational involvement as we share our joys and concerns, recite the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles or another of the Church’s Creeds, and the singing of the Doxology. The Adult Chancel Choir leads us in musical worship and presents musical anthems in preparation of the sermon. Handbell choir and Liturgical dance are seasonal elements in the traditional service. Although the traditional service is more formal in style, it preserves the spirit of the warm and welcoming heart that is so evident here at Madison First United Methodist Church. A nursery is provided for this and all services and children age 3 through 3rd grade break-out from worship into their own “Children’s Church” prior to the sermon.
