Missions & Outreach

Madison First UMC extends its reach into the community through several mission programs and projects that serve those in need throughout the year. This mission work is open to members and to others in the community who want to provide help and hope. Some are year-round activities while others are one-time events, yet all offer the opportunity to get involved and give back.

Interested in volunteering with the missions team? Here are areas you can use your time and talents to serve our church:

LOCAL MISSIONS
This group specializes in taking care of the needs of the community, not just the church family. The Local Missions Team coordinates the special giving emphasis each month and plans special programs such as the Christmas Angel Tree for foster children. Leader: Anelle Argo

NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
This team works to organize, fund, and staff mission trips annually to areas of the world in need. Leader: Katie Anderson

COMMUNITY CARES BOXES
Donations of non-perishable food items suitable for people in need with temporary housing in our community. These items are stored locally in our church and packed into easily transportable boxes for anyone in need that stops by. Leader: Cindy Tingle

Working through a Monthly Mission Emphasis schedule, Madison First UMC drives to be a mission minded church that equips and empowers others to do work that matters. We collect donations for a variety of programs year round. Below you can find each mission we plan to serve by month:
